The Safe and Creative Media Development Fund is organizing the "Senior Citizens with a Vibrant Heart" project to promote and develop digital skills in order to improve the quality of life for senior citizens.

(December 21, 64) The Safe and Creative Media Development Fund supports partner networks of the project. "Senior citizens with hearts still going strong." To develop skills and increase opportunities for learning digital technology, promote life skills for senior citizens to improve their quality of life, create and produce works that can be used as learning models to develop the potential of senior citizens for career opportunities, and serve as a channel to create positive behaviors in the general public by helping them understand the context of an aging society in terms of personal and economic values.

The event included a seminar on "How Seniors Can Use Online Media Effectively," with... Dr. Dhanakorn Srisooksai The manager of the Safe and Creative Media Development Fund presided over the opening ceremony, along with senior influencers from social media, including: Ms. Natrada Suksuathamwong, Dr. Somchai Suksuathamwong, Ms. Chutima Saennont, Ms. Kanjana Soisingh, Mr. Suthep Prayoonpitak Participated as a speaker to exchange knowledge and share experiences in skill development and increase learning opportunities in creating approaches to using digital technology at Land Lab, Sai Noi District, Nonthaburi Province.

Furthermore, the study found diverse internet usage patterns, including the extensive use of online social media platforms such as Line, Facebook, and YouTube, primarily for conversation, reading news, and following current events. This presents a new perspective, differing from the past which viewed the elderly as anxious, unfamiliar, and unable to use technology. Instead, the image now portrays the elderly as accepting of technology and integrating it into daily life, demonstrating that online media is an integral part of daily living.

Thai Media Fund Considering the elderly or senior citizens as a key target group, projects to develop the potential of senior citizens are continuously implemented every year. The latest project is under the name... "Senior citizens with hearts still going strong." The objectives are to develop skills and increase learning opportunities in creating digital technology guidelines; to meet the needs of senior citizens for a better quality of life; to create and produce media materials that can be used as learning models to develop the potential of senior citizens for career opportunities; and to serve as a channel for promoting positive behavior among the general public in understanding the context of an aging society in terms of personal and economic values. The target group is senior citizens aged 50 and above, with the core concept of promoting a digitally-savvy senior citizen, upskilling online skills, and learning through understanding, application, and practical application, through supportive strategies. This is based on the belief that senior citizens face physical limitations and anxieties that can hinder their adaptation.

The project also recruits student representatives with technology skills to serve as "Digital Buddies" for senior citizens, providing support and nurturing the development of models that contribute knowledge back to society. In addition, the project offers free training and model-building activities for senior citizens who wish to use digital skills and online media to improve their quality of life. Four courses will be offered from January 12-14:

  • Digital D 101: YOLD Creator, a program for seasoned media producers, offers training in creative media production for online platforms, photography, mobile video editing, confident on-camera speaking, and more.
