Television programs funded by the Safe and Creative Media Development Fund showcase Thailand's valuable arts and culture, reflecting a rich cultural heritage filled with distinctive performing arts that have been developed and passed down through generations.
It is also known as the "Southern Thai Dance," a renowned form of performing arts that is beautiful, powerful, and rich in stories of Southern Thai life, offering a complete experience in every aspect of the performance. This includes the exquisite and uniquely colorful costumes, the strong and agile dance movements, and the songs filled with witty improvisation in the form of rhyming verses delivered in a local dialect.
Including the various musical instruments that play the music and create rhythms, the "Nora" performance has been full of magic for centuries, leading to its inclusion on the list of national intangible cultural heritage in 2009.
The atmosphere at the Nora teacher-worship ceremony, held to show gratitude to the Nora dance teachers and to mark the auspicious start of filming the program. "Manorah: Thai Values to the World" The event was held at Nora Baan 168, Nakhon Nai Road, Mueang District, Songkhla Province, a place that showcases the traditional folk art of Nora, expressing the ethnic identity of Southern Thailand and an ancient art form that has been a part of Thai culture for a long time.
On Saturday, August 19, 2566, Dr. Thanakorn Srisukhsai, Manager of the Safe and Creative Media Development Fund, honored the event by presiding over it, along with Mr. Thammanit Nikomrat, the program advisor. In addition to the teacher-respecting ceremony, the event included a Manora dance performance as an offering to the Manora dance masters, presented by students from the Performing Arts Department, Faculty of Fine Arts, Thaksin University, Songkhla.
The program "Manorah: Thai Values to the World" will air on Channel 9 MCOT (Channel 30) every Saturday.
The period between 9:00 AM and 9:30 AM, starting from October 2023 onwards.
