At the Digital Government Development Agency (Public Organization).
Dr. Dhanakorn Srisooksai The manager of the Safe and Creative Media Development Fund stated that this collaboration shares a common objective: to promote and support the creation of media and activities related to monitoring unsafe and uncreative media, as well as warning about and monitoring crime, especially online and threats arising from electronic media or electronic devices. This aims to raise awareness and enhance media literacy skills among children, youth, the elderly, and the general public. Today marks a good starting point for driving change in the media industry. We must create awareness in society about being media literate and vigilant against unsafe and uncreative media, and utilize social media to build a positive media ecosystem for society.
Regarding Mr. Supoj Thianwut... The Director of the Digital Government Development Agency (DGA) stated that DGA has created a digital platform and developed applications for public use. In addition to introducing the public to online digital systems, it is crucial to consider cybersecurity threats and provide accurate knowledge to prevent people from becoming victims. Between 2565 and 2566, victims suffered losses totaling over 11,500 billion baht. Currently, 87.6% of Thais use media daily, averaging 7 hours and 25 minutes, with social media being the most used platform at 92.46%. This significantly increases the risk of Thais of all ages becoming victims of cybercrime. Therefore, DGA is committed to developing a new approach through this MOU to create media that empowers children, youth, families, and the elderly to be aware of and safely utilize online media, while also monitoring unsafe and unconstructive content. We hope to achieve our goals through this collaboration.
The objectives of this MOU are to promote and protect the public from online scams through creative media; support research and development of innovations related to media production; apply various innovations to media production; develop the skills of media producers in utilizing digital technology to create safe and creative media; jointly promote safe and creative media so that everyone can access and use it widely; and exchange knowledge and experience to improve the efficiency of the Media Fund and DGA's operations.
