(January 17, 2568) The Safe and Creative Media Development Fund, in collaboration with MCOT.
The "Sure Detective 404: Defusing Cyber Traps" project was launched at the Auditorium on the 6th floor of the MCOT Broadcasting Building, aiming to strengthen the resilience of youth, teachers, the elderly, and the general public in dealing with new forms of online threats.
The “Sure 404 Detective: Decoding Cyber Traps” project, by the Sure Before Share Center of MCOT, funded by the Safe and Creative Media Development Fund, aimed to enhance the skills of over 1,000 participants in observing, detecting, and avoiding “cyber traps” through blended learning activities. The project included field workshops in five provinces: Bangkok, Samut Sakhon, Rayong, Sing Buri, and Nakhon Nayok, covering five courses: Finance, Science, Health, AI, and Cyber Security. Knowledge was delivered by real experts from various organizations, including the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB), the Bank of Thailand (BOT), magicians, scientists, media experts, and the Sure Before Share Center of MCOT. A mobile exhibition, “Behind The Trap,” dissected the scams used by cybercriminals. Presented through an interactive exhibition format that allows viewers to participate in 4 exhibition rooms to learn about 4 dimensions of cyber traps: deception, concealment, capture, and confinement. An exclusive workshop, “Decoding Cyber Traps,” is open for registration for those interested in participating in an intensive and in-depth training course covering 5 key areas to combat cyber traps and threats around us. Participants will learn closely from experts. Online training activities include the updated FCDA 101, an educational film (winner of the TMF MEDIA INNOVATION AWARDS 2021 in the Social Media Innovation category for organizations), and a foundational course on fact-checking focusing on developing knowledge about media literacy, fake news, misinformation, and cybersecurity.
In addition, new content is produced and disseminated to raise awareness through television and online media within the MCOT network. “Sense Wizard Conquers Cyber Threats” Season 2: Chaturamon's Adventure in the Mysterious Land, an educational cartoon for children about online dangers, is broadcast on Channel 9 Cartoon. The program “Know the Scammers: Think Before You Believe” summarizes scams and provides warnings about cyber threats related to entertainment, using the perspectives of real entertainment news reporters and interviews with victims to serve as a cautionary tale for society, and is broadcast on Nine Entertainment.
Dr. Dhanakorn Srisooksai The manager of the Safe and Creative Media Development Fund stated that this project will be extremely beneficial in enhancing knowledge and instilling a sense of responsibility for safe digital technology use among Thai youth, families, and society. It will equip them with the skills and resilience to be media literate, especially against cyber threats in the form of online fraud using various methods that cause widespread impact and damage to society.
Mr. Phatiyuth Jaisawang The Acting President and CEO of MCOT Public Company Limited stated, “The success of the “Sure Detective” project began in 2562 with the “Sure Detective Youth Sure Before Share Center” project. This experience was then expanded to the “Sure Detective x Sure Before Share Club” project in 2563 and further developed into the “Sure Detective TRICK or TRUST” project in 2565. All projects have received excellent feedback, leading to the development of the “Sure Detective 404: Decoding Cyber Traps” project. This marks another significant step for the MCOT Sure Before Share Center as it enters its 11th year. MCOT has created several innovative media pieces specifically for this event, and we are confident of further success, leading the Thai media ecosystem toward greater information accuracy.”
