The Safe and Creative Media Development Fund held a closing ceremony for the “Young Storyteller” activity and presented certificates to 60 young people who successfully completed the “Little Tour Guide of Siam” workshop. These young people were selected from applicants nationwide, aiming to develop their potential as new-generation storytellers, enabling them to creatively and effectively convey Thai cultural and historical values through media.
Dr. Dhanakorn Srisooksai The manager of the Safe and Creative Media Development Fund stated that the 'Young Will Tell' activity was organized to develop the potential of youth to become 'Little Tour Guides of Siam' through practical learning processes. It provided opportunities for young people to engage in hands-on activities, learn from direct experience, and discover their own potential, which will be a crucial foundation for becoming the next generation of storytellers. This closing ceremony was not only an awarding of certificates but also a platform to reflect the project's results, demonstrating the tangible development of the youth in communication skills, creativity, and understanding of Thai cultural foundations.
The project garnered interest from youth nationwide, with a total of 196 applicants. 60 were selected (from the initial target of 50) by a panel of experts to participate in a full-course workshop held from March 10-12, 2026. The selected youths learned both theoretical and practical skills from experts in three key areas: 1. Content production and creation, 2. Museum knowledge, and 3. Professional tour guiding.
The panel included Mr. Sila Peerawatthik, "TikTok Wizard," a famous content creator; Mr. Yutthanawarakorn Saengaram, a senior curator from the National Museum, Bangkok; Mr. Ternphan Pansombat, an expert from the foundation; and faculty members from the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management, Dhurakij Pundit University.
In addition to classroom training, the youth also gained practical experience as "junior tour guides" at the National Museum, Bangkok, for at least 12 hours. This provided them with direct experience and confidence in communicating with visitors. Certificates were awarded to all 60 young people, along with plaques and cash prizes for the three outstanding video clips. This was another important platform showcasing the potential of young people as both "media literate" and "creative media producers" who can effectively communicate knowledge of Thai culture to the public.
For the video clip contest on the topic "Young Volunteer Tour Guides: Exploring the National Museum, Bangkok," the top 3 entries with the most views received a plaque of honor and cash prizes from the fund as follows:
Winner: Miss Nicha Thaiying
First Runner-up: Miss Saruta Koi-ueachart
Second Runner-up: Miss Panitnan Chamniercharoenkul
The Safe and Creative Media Development Fund continues to promote the development of well-rounded youth skills relevant to the future social context. This is achieved by integrating knowledge in history, arts and culture, and communication, coupled with promoting the appropriate production and use of media through practical learning processes. The goal is to enhance the potential of young people to become quality communicators and media producers, and to contribute to promoting the country's cultural tourism image.
