The Safe and Creative Media Development Fund launched the “SMART TEACHER SMART KIDS WITH AI” project to support early childhood teachers in media and AI literacy, with the first phase launched in Pathum Thani Province.

(May 2, 2569)  The Safe and Creative Media Development Fund launched its first training session under the “SMART TEACHER SMART KIDS WITH AI” project at The Idle Hotel & Residence in Pathum Thani Province. Mr. Pramote Boonnamsuk, Deputy Manager of the Safe and Creative Media Development Fund, presided over the opening ceremony.

Mr. Pramote It was stated that the project aims to equip kindergarten and early childhood development center teachers with media literacy and AI literacy skills. This training will help teachers gain knowledge and understanding in selecting and creating media appropriate for early childhood development, such as storytelling, using songs, and distinguishing between reality and imagination. They will also be able to effectively use AI as a tool for creating learning activities and understand the importance of teaching children how to use screen time appropriately and beneficially. Teachers who complete the training will be able to apply the acquired knowledge to create lesson plans and establish safe learning spaces in schools, as well as communicate with parents to continuously promote these skills, leading to a safe learning environment.

This project is designed to promote media literacy and AI literacy skills among early childhood educators (kindergarten and child development center teachers), who play a crucial role in caring for children from birth to 6 years old. The main goals are to enable teachers to effectively use AI as a tool for creating engaging learning activities and to enhance their skills in selecting and creating developmental-appropriate media for young children, such as storytelling and using songs.

To foster understanding of appropriate screen time management and enable the application of creating safe learning spaces in schools, as well as to empower teachers to communicate these guidelines and build understanding with parents in order to continuously promote safe and beneficial learning for children.
